BUB Featured in Greater Philly's Dog Days of Summer Fashion Show 2010
Many dogs, including a Galgo, Greyhound, an Italian Greyhound pair, a Pug, and a Chihuahua all strutted their stuff in BUB coats for the 2010 Dog Days of Summer, a fashion show and fundraiser benefitting the Italian Greyhound Rescue and G.R.I.N. (the Galgo Rescue International Network). The dogs wore rainwear, our Cordura winter coats, some of our BUB originals (solid fleece colors with paw print lining) and our new printed fleece patterns. Later, BUB donated the coats to the rescue, worth over $300.00.

Galgos are Spains version of the American Greyhound.
Prior to 2001, in Spain, it was an annual tradition for the galgueros (hunters owning galgos) to kill these dogs by hanging them en masse in the pine forests in and around Medina del Campo at the end of the coursing season (January/February).
Fermín Pérez (the president of Scooby) and WSPA captured vast
photographic evidence and WSPA compiled a report about the treatment of Galgos in Spain.
Although abuse is still rampant, there are now organizations to deal with the cruelty either by raising funds, promoting adoptions,or treating and housing the unwanted Galgos in Spain. Below are links for further reading or for interaction:

BUB donates coats to South Pacific County Humane Society, in it's effort to Stop the Shivering
As part of BUB's Stop the Shivering Campaign, BUB donates coats to worthy shelters. This time, the South Pacific County Humane Society has been chosen to receive at least fifteen coats from BUB starting in the Fall. The Humane Society is a no-kill shelter, a nonprofit organization fully funded by the community. They say on their website, http://beachpets.com , "Our Mission is to protect animals that are unable to speak for themselves, by providing compassionate care and placement for homeless pets without the need for euthanasia." In 2008, they found homes for more than 650 animals.
Now, they're waiting with open arms for 15 of BUB's best, to cover short-haired and shaved dogs who are going home with foster or adoptive parents.
Reminder, BUB is continuously considering shelters, rescues, and adoptive/ foster parents for donations. Use our suggest a rescue form to let us know of a worthy cause!
