BUB appears in Greater Philly's Dog Days of Summer Fashion Show!
Five dogs, a Galgo, Greyhound, two Italian Greyhounds, and a Standard Poodle all strutted their stuff in BUB coats for the Dog Days of Summer, a fashion show and fundraiser benefitting the Italian Greyhound Rescue and G.R.I.N. (the Galgo Rescue International Network). The dogs wore Pretty Patches corduroy, All fleece Chocolate Candy, a personalized "Shooting Star" design on fleece with sherpa lining, August Showers navy raincoat, and a dark gray all fleece coat with pawprint lining. Later, BUB donated the coats to the rescue, worth over $275.00.

Galgos are Spains version of the American Greyhound.
Prior to 2001, in Spain, it was an annual tradition for the galgueros (hunters owning galgos) to kill these dogs by hanging them en masse in the pine forests in and around Medina del Campo at the end of the coursing season (January/February).
Fermín Pérez (the president of Scooby) and WSPA captured vast
photographic evidence and WSPA compiled a report about the treatment of Galgos in Spain.
Although abuse is still rampant, there are now organizations to deal with the cruelty either by raising funds, promoting adoptions,or treating and housing the unwanted Galgos in Spain. Below are links for further reading or for interaction:
